Jason Taylor, M.Ac., EAMP, ADS, Dipl. Ac. is a licensed East Asian Medical Practitioner in Washington and a National Board Certified acupuncturist based in Seattle, Washington.
He graduated from the Maryland University for Integrative Health in 2014 with a Masters in Acupuncture, is board certified from the National Certification Committee for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is a certified Advanced Detoxification Specialist from the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. He is currently serving as a board member of the Washington East Asian Medical Association and as the Washington State representative of the American Society of Acupuncturists.
Jason was born in Toronto, Canada and grew up exploring lakes, rivers and forests while expanding his fascination with the natural sciences. He pursued a bachelor’s degree in biology before completing a Masters in Environmental Studies and starting work in the environmental and science education field. In 2001 he moved to Washington DC to found the Education Office of the Ecological Society of America. His favorite program, SEEDS, which focused on mentoring and supporting underrepresented ecology students won the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Engineering and Mathematics Mentoring from George W. Bush in 2007.
Jason suffered from severe sinus infections from the ages of 15-30, going through many rounds antibiotics, steroids, and even surgery. When an ENT doctor suggested cutting out part of his sinuses he didn’t think that was a good idea and decided to try acupuncture. He hasn’t had a sinus infection in over 14 years! It was this experience that first led him to contemplate a career in natural medicine.
When Jason became a parent, halfway through acupuncture school, he became very interested in fertility, pregnancy and postpartum. Some of his first patients were parents that he helped through healthy pregnancies. In his final semester of school he took a specialized course in fertility, pregnancy and postpartum care, continues to take education enrichment on fertility and pediatric acupuncture and loves working with families.
Jason’s mission and purpose is to support his patients in all aspects of their healing journey. He believes that by bringing the body back to balance all kinds of healing can occur. He does this by giving patients the tools to build and maintain their own wellness while providing real healing at the deepest levels.
Acupuncture restores balance to the body, enabling comfort and ease in all aspects of life. He is passionate about working with patients’ natural healing abilities to create a life where they can live in wellness. The goal is to provide a safe space for healing, a place for people to come as they are and be accepted no matter what and to use acupuncture and other healing modalities to get to the root of the symptoms so that healing occurs more deeply, completely, and naturally. The body is wise, and while getting relief from your symptoms from acupuncture, you will also learn what your symptoms may be teaching you about how to best take care of yourself and reconnect with your authentic nature–the real you, the best you.
When not in clinic, Jason is a stay-at-home dad to his two sons. He loves the outdoors and can often be found adventuring around the pacific northwest with his family.
