What is Nutritional Therapy?

In short, Nutritional Therapy allows for the client to use food as medicine. Through food, we can tap into our body’s own healing capacity and support it’s need to reach optimum health and vitality. The nutritional therapist will synthesize information from the health interviews, paperwork, questionnaires, and the Functional Evaluation and Lingual-Neuro Testing. This provides the detailed, individualized information required to create a tailored nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement protocol. The therapist will identify nutrient deficiencies and system imbalances using physical palpation, clinical assessment tools, inquiry, and motivational coaching and interviewing.

What is a Functional Evaluation?

The Functional Evaluation is a system of palpitations and clinical assessment tools used to determine client’s unique nutritional requirements and/or body system imbalances. A Nutritional Therapist can gather an immense amount of information in under 50 minutes about a client’s health needs while also tapping into the innate intelligence of each client’s body.

How does a Functional Evaluation Work?

The Functional Evaluation allows the client’s body to convey it’s imbalances and needs to the practitioner through a series of different reflex palpitations. Lingual-Neuro testing goes hand-in-hand with the functional evaluation. It seems like a miraculous way of determining what supplements and food are beneficial for a client, but it’s actually a carefully tuned scientific method. In Lingual-Neuro testing, a supplement/nutrient/food is placed on the client’s tongue and then a corresponding organ point is palpated. If the supplement is beneficial, the point in question immediately changes in sensation. This is not kinesiology, it is based on the proven phenomenon of how the taste buds communicate instantly with the brain.

How does a Functional Evaluation Feel?

The Functional Evaluation varies from person to person. Some find it relaxing while others may find it stimulating. The client remains fully clothed while lying on a massage table throughout the entire process.
